Several agents are running. You are checking provider dashboards to understand the spend.
Project-level cost visibility and configured limits sit beside the work.
Budget the project, not just the account
A provider account can serve several projects. That makes a total invoice a poor explanation of which work used the budget. Norc connects recorded run costs to projects so you can evaluate the work alongside its cost.
Configure a monthly project budget and a per-run cap. The project budget warns at 80% and pauses at 100% of recorded usage. Treat provider billing as the source of truth for external charges; reporting delays and subscription billing can differ from recorded run costs.
Control when and how work starts
Working hours and concurrency controls help keep automatic work within the operating window you choose. An autonomy policy determines how much can run without another human decision.
For a first project, use a small queue and deliberate review points. Increase parallelism only when you know the tasks can run independently and the outputs are useful. A faster queue is valuable when it produces reviewable work.
Review the cost of a result
When reviewing a completed task, look at its recorded cost, transcript, and evidence together. A low-cost run that needs extensive correction may be less useful than a more expensive run that completes the brief.
Track your own baseline: coordination time, corrections, blocked runs, and accepted results. Norc does not guarantee savings, and your agent subscriptions, API charges, and execution infrastructure remain separate.
Practical questions.
Does Norc cap my entire provider bill?
No. Norc controls work using its recorded costs and configured limits. Provider charges, other applications using the same account, subscriptions, and reporting delays can fall outside those controls.
Can I review work before giving agents more autonomy?
Yes. Start with a conservative autonomy policy, inspect run results, and change the policy as your workflow becomes more predictable.
