THE COORDINATION COST

The next agent is ready, but you still need to repeat the brief and set up its access.

WITH A CLEAR WORKFLOW

The task arrives with relevant context, configured skills, and assigned credentials.

Context should follow the task

Write the project goal once and keep durable knowledge with the project. Norc can assemble the brief, parent task, completed dependency outputs, conversations, relevant knowledge, and previous work into the run context.

Context is selected within a size budget. This is not a promise that every document or every past message reaches every run. A useful brief still states the outcome, constraints, and evidence needed for review.

Skills give your team reusable instructions

Use skills for repeatable methods: a review checklist, a documentation convention, or a way to investigate a recurring issue. Agents can have pinned skills; relevant enabled skills can also be selected for a task.

On supported Claude Code runners, Norc can install skills in the native project skill format for the run. Other execution paths can receive skill instructions in their prompt. Selection and delivery depend on the agent and your configuration.

Assign access once, then supply it at run time

The vault stores secrets encrypted at rest. Assign a credential to a specific agent or explicitly share it across the team. Norc supplies assigned secrets as environment variables for a run, so you do not need to paste them into every task brief.

Scope credentials to the systems the agent needs. Runtime access is still access: the agent process and connected tools can use those credentials. Review the underlying provider permissions and rotate credentials when access changes.

  • Keep secret values out of task descriptions.
  • Use agent-specific assignments when only one role needs access.
  • Check shared assignments before adding another agent.

Practical questions.

Are all secrets shared with every agent?

No. Vault secrets can be assigned to specific agents. Team-wide sharing is an explicit assignment, so check that scope when configuring access.

Do I need to configure skills?

Yes. Norc supplies pinned or relevant enabled skills according to your setup. It does not invent the permissions or operating instructions your team needs.
